• A Tribute to Donn Parker, by Patricia A. Gilmore, CISSP-ISSMP. Remembering Donn Parker, ISSA Distinguished Fellow, who was identified in 1999 by Information Security Magazine as one of the five top Info Security Pioneers, our community mourns his passing at the age of 91 this past September.
• Python Programming, by Constantinos Doskas – ISSA Senior Member, Northern Virginia Chapter. This article is part of a series of articles regarding the basic concepts of Python programming. Last month we discussed how to decompress UNIX/Linux log files. We examined some ways to view information using Python code. The data was analyzed on the fly which is a useful process for small tasks. In this article we will continue by using Python code, but we will prepare the data and load it on tables for future analysis.
